Call for Board of Directors

CMHA Kamloops is seeking dedicated individuals to join our Board of Directors and contribute to our mission of supporting mental health throughout the community. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about mental health and share our vision of mentally healthy people and a mentally healthy community.

CMHA Kamloops is committed to providing education, supports, housing, advocacy, and prevention initiatives to promote mental health and well-being. Our strategic plan outlines several priorities and objectives that guide our work:

Supports:

1. Collaborate with diverse community partners to ensure adequate mental health support.
2. Ensure robust supports throughout our housing options.
3. Strategically expand our mental health support services in response to community needs.
4. Enhance recovery-based supports for those who need or want it.
5. Provide diverse, effective person-centric mental health services.

Community:

1. Play a leadership role in advocating for systemic change and prevention.
2. Tell the story broadly and communicate our impact effectively.
3. Create cultural safety throughout the organization by supporting reconciliation.
4. Cultivate a healthy and diverse workplace.

Finances:

1. Diversify our funding base to enhance sustainability.

Operations:

2. Build capacity to support growth.
3. Develop new ways to evaluate and measure our impact.
4. Ensure effective succession planning at all levels of the organization.

We are seeking individuals with diverse backgrounds and expertise to join our Board of Directors. Ideal candidates will possess:

1. Passion for mental health and commitment to CMHA Kamloops’ vision and mission.
2. Experience and expertise in areas such as mental health, community support, housing, advocacy, finance, operations, and governance.
3. Strong leadership skills and the ability to contribute to strategic decision-making.
4. Knowledge of the local community and its mental health needs.
5. Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

We will review applications and invite selected candidates for interviews. Successful candidates will be appointed to the Board of Directors at our Annual General Meeting.
