We’re thrilled to share the incredible journey of Envision, which started as something else but turned into a beacon of hope for our community. Located at 346 Campbell Ave. Kamloops, Envision is now a thriving shuttle program dedicated to providing outreach services and transportation to shelter spaces for those in need.
Since its launch in October 2021, Envision has diverted over 150 individuals towards shelter, support, and essential services. Their doors are open from 2 pm to 10 pm, extended to 10 pm to 6 am during the summer, and 4 pm to midnight during the cold season, ensuring help is available when it’s needed most.
This collaborative program, generously funded by The City of Kamloops, focuses on creating culturally safe spaces and applying an Indigenous lens to connect individuals experiencing homelessness with housing and support services.
The CMHA Envision outreach team has been making an incredible impact, interacting with an average of 60 people each week. They assess individual needs and provide appropriate referrals to support services, ultimately guiding clients into shelters for further assistance through case management.
But that’s not all! Envision Outreach goes above and beyond by distributing basic supplies, recovery information, snacks, meals, and water throughout the city, making sure nobody is left without help.
Envision is a testament to the power of community and collaboration. Let’s celebrate their dedication to making Kamloops a better place for all.
