CELBRATE MENTAL HEALTH!
Mental Health Association Kamloops offered up a funfilled afternoon at Gardengate! On Tuesday, May 4, nearly 100 people enjoyed games, a BBQ and treats at the first-annual Mental Health Week BBQ, eo-hosted by Kamloops' Open Door Group and Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA). The afternoon offered attendees the opportunity to reflect on, and improve their mental health through socializing, outdoor activities and music. Door prizes, like gorgeous stepping stones made by Gardengate participants, and nifty themed baskets made by CMHA clients, were handed out throughout the afternoon. The fun-filled event was held at Gardengate, a certified-organic garden and horticulture program managed by Open Door Group, and was made possible through the generous donations of the following local businesses: A&W, Brock Coopers, United Steelworkers Local 7619, Northshore Safeway and Duffy's Pub.
