Canadian Mental Health Association, Kamloops Branch Friend Raiser Event
KAMFEST March 20, 2010
Canadian Mental Health Association will soon be posting Information on Dr. Jean Clinton's talk about "All Kids are our Kids"
Dear Art Lover
The third annual CMHA Art Calendar is produced entirely by Kamloops artists with mental illness who follow in the footsteps of artists like Vincent van Gogh, Charles Schultz, and Pablo Picasso. All proceeds go toward the purchase of art supplies for this talented, mostly self-taught group.
CMHA is very proud of the work produced by our artists, which has been recognized by art critics with praise ranging from “promising” to “moving” and “fresh.” In fact, our artists have been showcased at the Kamloops’ Art Gallery’s Open Gallery, where the work not only won praise, but offers to purchase.
With the purchase of this calendar, you are more than a patron of the arts, you are giving recognition to highly talented people who were once known as “mentally ill” and who are now known as “local artists”.
Thank you for helping us to prove that people are not their diagnosis and that a valuable contribution to our community and society is made through the arts

Welcome to CMHA Kamloops Branch
The Canadian Mental Health Association is a national nonprofit organization made up of provincial bodies and local branches. Our Kamloops branch is one of 23 in British Columbia. We began as the Nicola Achievement Centre in 1982 and incorporated under Canadian Mental Health Association in 1992 as a not for profit, registered charity. We receive funding from the Interior Health authority, BC Housing Management Commission, BC Gaming Commission, United Way and private tax-deductible donations. CMHA-Kamloops is dedicated to raising awareness and promoting the mental health of all people within the communities we serve. We are able to achieve this through the services we offer directly through our Clubhouse programs, advocacy, volunteer opportunities and public education.
